    Lunokhod Sputniks (CrazyKoalas)

The Nomad Military Force has a long record in the aggressive use of Remotes, but it was during the NeoColonial Wars where they truly demonstrated the tactical potential of these units in combat. On all the NeoColonial Wars battlefronts, the ability of Remotes to force the pace and outmanoeuvre enemy units was of extreme value to the numerically inferior Nomad Military Force.

However, when engaged in direct combat, Remotes presented a series of failings that resulted in high attrition rates. To solve this, the Sputnik series embodies a range of improvements and optimizations specially designed for direct attack.

The greatest success of Bakunin’s engineers was to increase their armor, electronic defenses and NBC protection factor, while keeping the high rate of mobility and speed characteristic of Remotes. Sputniks can move across and climb any surface, while acting as a bastion from where Nomad tactical Hackers can operate with total security. Even with all these improvements, Sputniks have a lower fabrication and maintenance cost than any T.A.G. or other advanced combat system. Their light weight and small size makes Sputniks the most effective option to swiftly handle tactical scenarios, explaining their presence in great quantities in Nomad forces. Sputniks can act as a defensive element superior to infantry, but Nomad officers are aware they are more effective when used in mobile situations that exploit their speed, shock capability, and firepower, closing with and destroying the enemy under almost any battlefield conditions.

The various Sputnik models possess different capabilities that determine their role in an attack force. The Lunokhod (Moonwalker) model is used to probe and outflank enemy combat groups. It must force or create a fight, often through invasion of an enemy’s ‘safe areas’. The Tsyklon (Cyclone) model is capable of deploying incredible yet precise firepower while remaining highly mobile, allowing it to decimate adversaries directly, cover the advance of allied troops, or provide supplementary anti-tank capability.

The Nomad tactical philosophy, aware of the Sputniks’ offensive potential, emphasizes their use in ‘sudden assault’ attack manoeuvres. A ‘sudden assault’ implies defeating enemy resistance with an offensive both fast and devastating. The traumatic effect of the assault serves to unbalance the enemy and prevent them regrouping. With a high success rate in these kinds of operations, regularly causing numerous casualties and immense shocks to enemy morale, the presence of Sputniks is essential in any Nomad combat group.

  • Janissaire (HMG)

Original price was: $13.50.Current price is: $12.50.

    Janissaire (HMG)

Janissaries are a heavy line infantry regiment, trained to an excruciating extent to fight and resist to the last man. Equipped with tactical armored exoskeletons, their mission is to withstand the worst of any combat. The Janissary Regiment is made up of the Orphaned, the Donated and the Delivered. Its members are recruited from Funduq orphanages and among children of non-Haqqislamites freely donated to the service of Haqqislam. The Government accepts these children to convert them to the one true faith and as a sign of their parents’ commitment and loyalty. In colonies located in some of the most inhospitable areas of Bourak, many dhimmi parents, followers of other religions, give one of their children away for them to have a better education in the city and, with it, better future prospects. Some of these kids are sent to high-performance training centers around Funduq, where they are educated in the Haqqislamite creed and the military life. Young Janissaries are raised into solid warriors and staunch believers who reject the faith of their biological parents, vowing instead to defend Haqqislam’s ideals to the death. All Janissaries forgo Cubes: at the start of their training they are surgically outfitted with a temporary inhibitor that precludes any memory/personality recording. Upon being released from service, the inhibitor is removed and the former Janissaries can continue their lives as full Haqqislamite citizens. It is a way for them to prove their firm adherence to their ideals, and their commitment to a duty they will see through or die trying. They do not fear death, for their strength lies in their resolve and their faith. As disciples of Haqqislamite philosophy, some of them join advanced courses of Tebb al Nabi, the Prophet’s Medicine, and become excellent field surgeons, whose service is invaluable to the Sword of Allah. The exact same training and surgical process is applied to Orphans taken in by the State, and some say the Delivered also undergo the process. The Delivered are children of infidels captured by slave traders in their razzias. What slavers cannot sell in the private market, they sell to Haqqislam, who takes them in to save their lives and raise them into courageous warriors of the Faith.

  • WARCORS, WAR CORRESPONDENTS

Original price was: $15.30.Current price is: $14.60.

    Warcors, War Correspondents

The War Correspondents, or Warcors, are professional journalists willing to pass through cross-fires to get the most exclusive news or the most shocking images. The whole of Maya vibrates with their chronicles, sent from the battlefront, transmitted while they crouch in the midst of a bombing or while bullets whistle over their heads. Viewers love to see the image wobble while the remote camera shakes from the impacts of hostile fire. All this conveys the epic nature of the profession; an adventurer’s job, one for unarmed warriors. Because when a reporter joins a military unit, they have to confront the same threats as its soldiers; ambushes, booby traps, snipers, automatic fire… every possible combat danger. That’s why being a war correspondent is to be part of a brotherhood with one of the highest rates of heart disease, due to tension and a frenzied pace, and of divorces, for always being a long way from home. But this is a calling more than just a job – no reporter does it for the money, but for the risk and the recognition of a profession as epic as it is cinematographic.

Beyond the search for the truth, a characteristic of the early days of journalism, what moves these wandering nomads from conflict to conflict is the emotion of the exclusive story: to inform from the front line, to see what nobody else can, even if they cannot broadcast it afterwards. Because you can forget all about the freedom of the press in combat zones; the only thing that gets broadcast is what Intelligence allows. These reporters sign a contract of obedience and confidentiality and if they violate it they will find themselves immediately locked in a military cell on charges of betrayal and disclosure of secrets. The job of a war reporter is to relate the army’s deeds, to create heroes, to exalt them and to magnify their legend. Everything for the audience, but from the frontline and with camera in hand.

  • Myrmidon Officers

Original price was: $12.50.Current price is: $11.80.

    Myrmidon Officers

The Myrmidon Officers have been created to lead the most effective and fierce assault troops in the Human Sphere. Or they have been chosen from the amongst best and most prominent of the Myrmidons to become their champions. However, it doesn’t matter which one of these two statements is truest, because both are part of ALEPH’s plan. The Officers are warriors of such quality and courage that they are worthy of having fought side by side with the legendary heroes of the Trojan War. The Myrmidon Officers are the muscle and the tendons of the S.S.S. They don’t care about strategic subtleties, as they know when they reach the battlefield, their only mission, that they and their warriors have been created for, is to destroy the enemy and win the battle. Because, when the dust settles, it may be ALEPH who claims victory but in fact, these warriors, with their strength, their combat instinct and their leadership, were the ones who achieved the glory.

  • Myrmidons

Original price was: $10.50.Current price is: $9.56.

    Myrmidons

The Myrmidons are ALEPH’s elite storm troops, and the spearhead of its efforts against the EI. They use Lhosts specially designed to accompany Achilles in combat. Their reputation is on a par with their leader’s and the influence he has over these tough and aggressive veteran soldiers is legendary. No man in history has ever had such loyal followers guarding his back. The Myrmidons are an extension of Achilles, and share some of his personality traits, like an excessive lust for violence and ‘at-any-cost’ actions. To them, each new combat must be the bloodiest of all, exceeding all that went before. The Myrmidons are sent by ALEPH to where fury and impetuosity can win if cold logic is insufficient. Like the old Thessalian Myrmidons of Greek mythology, their armor is painted in dark colors, conferring the look of a soldier ant. Fierce and dangerous, the Myrmidons are cruel and formidable warriors. Despite their savagery, they are considered the best assault infantry in the Sphere. There is no possible comparison to their efficiency and no adversary able to resist force as overwhelming as theirs. All their enemies fall, devastated by the infernal whirlwind of the Myrmidons, charging like a furious roaring wave of steel and death.
