Description
Baptiste Valombre is roguish and noble born adventurer turned officer in the armies of Westerners on campaign in hell. With his arsenal of potent munitions and techno-magical gauntlet, he has taken to the infernal plains well, having slain a mighty Lost lizard beast and mounted its head on his armour, and recruited a demonic butler to be his valet and pack mule. The miniature also includes a partial scenic base with Baptiste heroically placing his foot on a rock of wailing, damned souls, which he pays no mind to when there’s adventure to be had!
A highly characterful miniature, Valombre fits in many different niches. One that works especially well is in Warhammer 40k as an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor with his fancy relic pistol and his alien familiar and his xeno hunting trophies. All those aspects also make him ideal as a Rogue Trader, swashbuckling around the galaxy collecting alien loot and hunting galactic big game. He also works as a radical inquisitor for Hereticus or Malleus as having a demonic familiar is not something a puritan does. Baptiste Valombre has a strikingly similar amount in common with the design of the recent Ordo Xenos Inquisitor that was released: they both have a fancy and unusual gun, they are both wearing unique armour, they both have an inhuman critter as a companion, except Valombre was released around a decade ago.
You could potentially also get away with using Valombre as a Witch Hunter in Warhammer or perhaps an Empire captain or Dogs of War hero with cutting edge, possibly magical technology plus optional imp, which you would never get away with in the Empire, but out in Tilea or the Border Princes? You’re more likely to escape a witch burning.
